WASHINGTON — The Senate Judiciary Committee voted on Thursday to hold a present and a former aide to President Bush in contempt of Congress, but it is by no means clear that they will be dragged before the lawmakers anytime soon.

By 12 to 7, the committee voted citations against Joshua B. Bolten, the White House chief of staff, and Karl Rove, the president’s former chief political adviser, for refusing to comply with subpoenas in a Congressional inquiry into the firings of nine federal prosecutors.

Karl Rove's legacy will not be what he wanted it to be.

The political guru who made President Bush what he is today had hoped to leave behind a permanent Republican ruling majority. Instead, his tenure will stand as an example of how divisiveness and partisanship are not conducive to successful governance.

After years of being lauded as a political genius, Rove nevertheless leaves his party in worse shape than he found it, with his boss profoundly discredited in the eyes of the American people.

When historians look back at Bush's squandered opportunity to unite the country and even the world behind a shared agenda after 9/11, part of the blame will go to Vice President Cheney and the decision to invade Iraq. But part will accrue to Rove for choosing to use national security as a wedge issue.

Or should that headline read "rat leaves stinking shit." Either headline is an insult to the rats (rodent variety) of the world. Anyway, the point is another criminal slinks away from the scene of the crime, leaving others to clean up -- and pay for -- the greatest disaster in American history, the bush (lowercase on purpose) administration. WASHINGTON — Karl Rove and other White House employees were cautioned in employee manuals, memos and briefings to carefully save any e-mails that might discuss official matters even if those messages came from private e-mail accounts, the White House disclosed Friday.

Despite these cautions, e-mails from Rove and others discussing official business may have been deleted and are now missing.

WASHINGTON — The White House said Wednesday that it may have lost what could amount to thousands of messages sent through a private e-mail system used by political guru Karl Rove and at least 50 other top officials, an admission that stirred anger and dismay among congressional investigators.

The e-mails were considered potentially crucial evidence in congressional inquiries launched by Democrats into the role partisan politics may have played in such policy decisions as the firing of eight U.S. attorneys.

If this isn't enough to make you want to puke then I don't know what to say.

A criminal administration laughing it up and getting all cozy with their big media buddies, who let corrupt politicians and corporations get away with anything and everything, all for the sake of their own personal careers and invitations to these type of events.

I mean what is the purpose of this other than to buddy up to the people who are supposed to be keeping an eye on you? These groups should not be buddies. Ok, they don't have to be venom spitting foes, but they can't be sleeping in the same f-ing bed. Amazing. Yuking it up with one of the biggest criminals of modern times, just because he holds a particular office and because it's good for your career.
